Last week I announced that our family is travelling to see a total eclipse of the sun in the USA. On Monday 21st August 2017 millions of people in parts of the USA will see the phenomenon. The eclipse will make landfall in a narrow strip from the Pacific northwest all the way to the Atlantic coast in South Carolina. #22 in the Judging a Photograph Series . It’s always nice to find new ideas for making photos more interesting. I do love to use frames in an image. A frame is something within the photo that holds the edges. We “read” images just the same way we read text, i.e. left to right. That means it’s a good idea to give a bit of thought to edges. The leaflet for Newby Hall and Gardens near Ripon, North Yorkshire declares “so much to see and do!” There is a lot of truth in that statement. Visiting a stately home with a tween and teenager I did expect to run out of entertainment quite quickly. However teens are like toddlers in at least one respect; if you keep moving, there’s a chance they won’t get bored. We had a leisurely arrival in time for lunch.
